Warsaw Rising Museum

In one of the last posts that I have done, I mentioned some of the places that you can go sightseeing, so I will talk about those places that I have mentioned in that post, and the rest, and you can just google it!

The Warsaw Rising Museum was built to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the doomed Warsaw Uprising of 1944. It was opened in 2004, and it recieved the attention that it demands in recent years. The Uprising is facinating and disturbing at the same time, much like the Holocaust, because of the Polish Home Army.

The museum evolves around the struggles and it tries to recreate the atmosphere of the events, as well as give a picture of life under the Nazis as it was trying to fight its way to freedom. The museum shows the strength of the Polish spirit. In the museum there are three floors of pictures that try to capture the events of what happened during the uprising. The pictures in the museum try to show how all the times weren't bad, by representing those times with smiling soldiers, but they also show the importance that this was a serious matter, and the show that by showing somewhat graphic pictures. Then it dives into to show how there were children who had to fight or were used as messengers around the age of 12. The museum also has a large number of videos and interactive areas, as well as a film about the first month of the struggle.

Admission is 4 pln. and it is free on Sundays, the times are from 10:00 to 8:00 pm everyday.
